About Me

I am running for School Board Trustee of the North Vancouver Board of Education in the Fall 2018 civic election on Saturday October 20, 2018.

I have been a resident of the North Shore for almost twenty years, and parent to two children in SD44. I am a dedicated and caring advocate for my community, committed to all students regardless of their ability, ethnicity or gender, so they have the best learning environment and programs available to reach their highest potential.

I currently work as an Active and Safe Routes to School Facilitator for HASTe BC (Hub for Active School Travel) with schools on the North Shore to promote the benefits of walking and biking to school.

I have volunteered for 6 years on the Canyon Heights Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) (3 as Chair) and 3 years with the District North Vancouver PAC (2 years as Vice Chair). Through this experience I have learned to work well in a team environment, giving me a strong foundation for working on the NVSD School Board. I find contributing to school and community a very rewarding experience and am proud to have taken a leadership role in developing:

  • New Kindergarten Booklet
  • New Kindergarten Orrientation
  • Active & Safe Routes to School Program
  • Master of Disaster Emergency Preparedness Program for all Grade 6 Students in BC
  • Celebrating & Supporting Complex Learners
  • Milo the Robot Resource
  • Pink Shirt Day
  • School Gardens Initiative
  • Volunteering with Family Services of the North Shore on PEDAW & Christmas Bureau
  • Harvest Project Campaigns
