NVSD SCHOOL BOARD TRUSTEE

T E S T I M O N I A L S

Over the past several years I have noticed Kulvir as she has appeared all over North Vancouver; supporting great causes, participating in neighborhood events with her family and appearing before District Council to advocate for safe routes and better amenities – all to support a healthy and active community. I was very pleased to see that she had decided to run for School Board and take on the role of Trustee.  As a parent with school age children I am glad to know that someone like Kulvir will be advocating on behalf of the community and making our school system that much better for all our children. She has been active in the community for years, is running for all the right reasons and I can’t think of a more positive person than Kulvir.
Roger Bassam,
Councillor - DNV
Kulvir has been such a wonderful help with the Provincial Eating Disorders Awareness Week (PEDAW) campaign. She is passionate advocate for educating and engaging youth, and making sure every child feels that they belong. Kulvir is an out of the box thinker and was an integral member of our planning committee. She went above and beyond the call of duty to connect with community organizations, local municipal government officials, and school board members to raise awareness for eating disorders. Kulvir has a kind and approachable demeanour and has been a pleasure to work with. We have been very fortunate to have Kulvir Mann as a partner in creating a healthy community where everyone can live full and meaningful lives. Thank you Kulvir!

Kulvir Mann is exceptionally community-minded, consistent, committed and fair. Kulvir is a quiet leader who draws people together and whose very presence brings a sense of order and decorum to discussion and decision-making. She gets things done effectively, always through due process, more often than not behind the scenes, so that there is always a sense that whatever has been accomplished, it's "we" that did it.
Tom Walker, North Shore Safety Council of BC, President
Kulvir Mann is one of the most passionate advocates for children I have ever met.  On top of that she is a loyal North Vancouver resident that cares deeply about our community.  For years she has been volunteering and making a real tangible difference in numerous ways.  Kulvir is a person I trust, respect, and know would be an incredible School Board Trustee."
Brian Dean, Kidsworld - Program Director
Whether she is spearheading a PAC initiative, providing crossing guard duty at her kids’ school or sharing her true love for North Vancouver on social media, Kulvir Mann is a quiet champion of her community. A fearless advocate for kids and families, she seems to have endless energy in her quest to make schools safe, respectful, inclusive and fun places to be. Kulvir makes good things happen in a way that is efficient, fair and collaborative. What more could any school board ask for?

Kulvir was one of the first people I met at Canyon Heights when my oldest entered kindergarten 8 years ago. She connects with all people with openness, a  contagious smile and often a hug. Through the years I’ve gotten to know there is so much more to this petite mother of two. She has been a fiercely dedicated community volunteer. She has been the face of PAC chair and Safety working cooperatively with RCMP, ICBC, Fire, Bylaws and the North Shore with safety Blitzes. Even the Mayor has supported Kulvir with her safety initiatives by coming and promoting events at our school. In addition, she has been involved  with the North Shore and Victoria legislature as a compassionate advocate on platforms including Autism Awareness Month and PEDAW (Eating Disorders Awareness). She promotes and fundraises  for Cops for Cancer and  volunteers with Family Services for their Xmas Bureau every year. Her volunteer work reaches beyond my list but it is her approach and attitude that makes her so unique and outstanding. She lives and leads authentically with optimism, compassion and strong desire to make our wonderful community even better. She inspires others, including myself to be and do better for ourselves, our children and our community.

Kulvir is driving positive change in her community. Her relentless efforts to support groups that seek to benefit the community are nothing short of amazing. I have personally seen Kulvir’s hard work in bettering the community, whether it be in supporting a local charity drive, striving for safer school zones on our roads or in her drive to increase autism awareness. Kulvir does all this work while balancing the needs of her children and family and not at their expense, and she always ensures her children are exposed to as many positive experiences as possible. In my opinion there is not any person more qualified to sit as a school board trustee than Kulvir. "
 Jennifer Lloyd – Parent
Kulvir's son has been receiving ET Music Therapy services for the past 5 years.  In that time, I have seen Kulvir lovingly advocate for her son, and for children with autism in BC.  Kulvir participates in local events promoting special education, and is active in a wide variety of community events across the lower mainland.  Kulvir supports kids and families in Vancouver with Autism, gives of herself freely with community work in North Vancouver, and volunteers for her children's schools in the North Vancouver School District.  She has been involved in promoting safety protocols in the schools, and successfully promoting active lifestyle campaigns and efforts to encourage families and children to walk/bike to school!  Kulvir is approachable, warm and genuinely cares for all in her community and making it an even better place for all to live!

As a parent and volunteer at Canyon Heights Elementary, I’m excited to support Kulvir MANN for the upcoming School Board election for School Trustee. I have known Kulvir for 8 years.
I feel quite comfortable stating that Kulvir is the hardest working person I’ve ever met! She is a pillar of our community, giving support and time to multiple projects ranging from Safe Routes to the district hot lunch program to autism awareness campaigns. This is just to name a few; to list all of the programs and organizations that Kulvir has lent her time and effort to would be impossible. She is a tireless advocate for all students and the first person we all think of when we need information, promotion for a cause, feedback on an idea, or just an extra set of hands.
Kulvir listens carefully, makes reasonable and well thought out decisions and has excellent problem solving abilities. I’ve witnessed these qualities many times at various events and meetings over the last several years. These attributes will produce fair, intelligent, and solid decisions as a School Trustee.
Kulvir is incredibly connected within our community. She has extensive contacts with businesses, school staff, the local and district PAC, and within our school. She is very well respected by parents, teachers, school administration and the community at large.
Kulvir not only desires excellence in the classroom but will strive for a safe learning environment for all students, regardless of their abilities. She will promote education for all students from different backgrounds and capabilities.
Kulvir is an inspiration to me and many others. I fully and whole heartedly support her for School Board Trustee.

Velda Williams - Canyon Heights PAC member - Hot Lunch Coordinator
Kulvir is one of the most active,  North Shore community mined people I know. As a parent, Kulvir has dedicate herself at her children's Parent Advisory Council year after year as well as working with North Vancouver District PAC. Kulvir is often seen at many community events with her children, supporting important initiatives in any way she can. Participating on committees that involve school to DNV to the CNV, and everything in between, Kulvir has a deep love for the people of this world!
